Happy Monday! Today is the first day of Education Week! This year's theme is "Unlocking Doors and Opening Potential". Our week will be busy with goal setting, dressing like our future careers, skipping for school and joining in on a schoolyard clean-up!

Thank you to all of you who have sent back driver forms for our May field trips! I am still in need of drivers so is you are able to help please send your form back. I really appreciate all of your time and help! We are in need of room for 6 more children for Aggie days and 14 more children for Feel the Beat.

April 23 - April 27

Hi all! Sorry about any confusion with the Science test today! All Grade 2 teachers are away at a Math Conference today and tomorrow and I mixed up my Science plans. Science test will be on TUESDAY! Thanks for understanding.

There is no school this Friday due to a Professional Development day for teachers.

Welcome back after Spring break!

This Wednesday we will be doing an Easter Batik Art project. The finished product is beautiful. Although this project is not hard it does require parent help as we use hot wax and fabric dyes. If you are available this Wednesday from 10:15 - 11:30 please let me know as I would love a few parent volunteers in the Art room.

Don't forget it is Library day every Thursday. We have had  ALOT of overdue books this year.

Bonus Question: The Easter Bunny hid 47 eggs outside of MMH school and 19 eggs outside of Nicholas Sheran School. How many eggs did he hide altogther?

As well as showing your answer please explain the strategy that you like to use to solve double digit addition problems. Do you like to use rods and cubes? Do you regroup in the tens and ones columns? What works best for you?

Easter time is here! This week will be busy with many different Easter activities.

There will be no spelling this week.

Yoga stretching tomorrow (Tuesday) for our class from 9-9:30. This has been a great opportunity for our classes to learn a bit more about the proper way to stretch and safely try some kid safe yoga with an instructor.

On Thursday we will be Easter egg decorating in our classroom! Please send your child to school on Thursday with 4 hard boiled eggs. The eggs should be carefully wrapped in paper towel and then stored in a tupperware or plastic container. This makes for the safest travel between home and school. Thanks!

Thursday is Crazy hat and hair day! Come in your craziest hat or hairstyle on Thursday.

Our Easter party will be on Thursday afternoon. Thank you to all of our snack volunteers!
