Math

In Math we have been focusing on addition to 20 using the strategies listed below:

Making 10

Order of Numbers

Looking for Doubles

Doubles +1

Doubles +2

It would be great practice for the students to be playing simple math games at home to help speed up skill and confidence with these strategies. Dice games, card games and even computer sites are great practice!

Game for this week:

Have your child roll 3-4 dice. Get them to put them in order of how they would add them together and explain their thinking to you. Are they using doubles or near doubles? Are they looking for pairs that make 10?
