Education & Mental Health Week

This week is short BUT busy! It is Education week and our theme is “We Are Teachers”. We had a great conversation this morning about things we can do help take care of our mental health. Some examples were going to be earlier, talking with friends and family, exercising, taking time to relax and sharing our feelings. We will continue to talk and learn about it through the week.

Hats on for Mental Health Awareness

On Wednesday we are asking all students to wear a hat for Mental Health Awareness. Please don’t make it a silly hat. Something simple would be great. Thanks!

We are all TEACHERS Project

On Thursday the students are going to be paired up with a classmate. It will be their job to “teach” their buddy about something for 15 minutes. I would suggest each student bringing in something small to help with their mini lesson. The topics are endless. They could teach about anything they feel really confident in or are passionate about. Perhaps your child knows a lot about baking or a sport or an animal. I would suggest picking a topic tonight and having a small picture, book or prop of some sort to help with the “teaching/talking”. Thanks for your help with this!
Virtual Field Trip

Field Trips

We have had a few driver forms returned for the May Field trips. I am still in need of drivers for all of the trips. Please let me know if you are able to help. Thanks! Feel the Beat is next week on the 14th! Please let me know if you can even drop off and pick up! Thanks!

Family Assembly

The focus of our family assembly this week is Habit #5 Seek first to understand then be understood. We will be focusing on what it means to be a good listener. The assembly will be hosted by the grade 2’s but it is not something parents need to attend.
